i called in for oil change and was able to get an appointment in a day. fast service and excellent service and being truthful to customer.

My wife's Civic had been making a screeching noise every time we hit the brakes when backing out of the garage. The noise got progressively worse until it was impossible to ignore. We decided to go to Alvin's based on the great reviews and the fact that we knew a dealership would completely jack up the price, based on experiences in the Bay area with my own car. Appointment was booked over the phone and it was quite easy. Dropped off the car late so they weren't able to take a look until the next day. Tony was the person helping us out and he called early next day to provide a diagnostic. The brake pads were pretty worn and initially they were concerned that the rotors were also damaged but fortunately it wasn't the case. They gave an estimate over the phone and since we were going out of town we were OK with waiting for the repair. Tony called once more to provide an update and also talk about a couple more recommended services but he was never doing a sales pitch or pushing us into shelling out more cash. They did a great job and the price was fair. I would highly recommend this place because they're responsive, did a great job and more importantly they are honest.

If you are looking for a honest service station for your vehicle, this is the place to be. They are very upfront about their pricing and don't recommend needles repairs. You can depend on them to do a good job.

This place is great. Yelped to find a good mechanic and took my chance with this place! Poor Tom needs help answering phones. I had to go in person for an appointment, because he was busy checking cars in and could not answer the phone. He kept a great attitude in spite of all the business. This place saved me lots of money. They are honest and are not out to take your money, like the Dealership. Happy Hyundai customer:)

Here is what you are looking for at an auto shop: 1) Knowledge of issue at hand (Do they know what they are doing), 2) Price honesty (Are they trying to take you for a ride) and 3) Friendly staff (Do they have an attitude problem). All 3 were met at Alvins and Tom was great. I was quite pleased and will continue to bring my vehicles (Both FORDs) here for service.

Place is super friendly and nice. Did a oil change within a short amount of time and they still let me in. Really great customer service.

I've been taking all of our vehicles to Alvin's for several years now. I think it was actually all the Yelp reviews that led me to the shop, so it's only fair that I contribute mine. The team at Alvin's is capable, professional, and very honest. I have never had to bring back a vehicle because the repair wasn't done correctly the first time. Vehicles are ready when they say, and the job is done correctly. I also appreciate how honest these guys are. I typically work with Tony (Alvin's son) and he has taken care of countless issues free of charge. I've brought cars in several times thinking there was a problem, only for them to say it wasn't an issue without charging me anything. We drive older vehicles so there is always some sort of service that needs to be done. We have a running list of items at Alvin's and we generally knock off a few things each visit. Tony is awesome about explaining which things are most important and which things can wait. I have never felt pressured to have any extra work done. Alvin's is such a good shop, I've convinced my parents to bring their vehicles there as well. As long as these guys are open, I won't be taking my vehicles anywhere else.

Everyone here is fantastic. I'm not extremely savvy with cars, but when it comes to repairs, this is the place to go. Tony has a great way of handling auto. Unlike other auto centers where the staff can be a little pushy and short with you, he explains what's going on in a personable matter and actually talks to you like a human being with a car problem, not another transaction. When they inspect your car, they won't add all these unnecessary things on your estimate to scare you if you drive your car without taking the services; they only say what's necessary, and maybe a few things to look out for in the near future. All in all, my experience here at Alvin's has been the most pleasant auto appointment I've had thus far. Highly recommended.

Tony and the crew over at Alvin's Auto Center -- Willow Glen are the best! I have taken my truck here two times now and both times I have left a happy customer. Their customer service and great work ethic separates them from the rest. If I ever have any problems with my truck I will only take it here. As I was driving into work I heard a constant loud warping sound near my passenger side tire. I knew something was up, so I took it in right when they opened. I told them what the problem was and they already had an idea of what was going on. I hung around the area and in less than an hour Tony called me back and knew what the problem was, (my wheel bearing was bad) We discussed the pricing which was MORE THAN FAIR. And told me they would need to order the part and it would be done in 3 hours. So I come back to the shop 2.5 hours later and surprisingly they were done! They explained everything that was done and they test drove it and everything checked out just fine. Tony and they guys are doing a hell of a job over at Alvin's Auto Center -- Willow Glen. Great customer service great work ethic and reasonable pricing. You can't ask for anything more! Thanks fellas!
